SAN FRANCISCO– Speaker John Pérez (D-Los Angeles) delivered remarks last night at an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee celebrating Consul General Akiva Tor’s tenure as Israel’s Consul General for the Pacific Northwest, and to present him with a proclamation commemorating his diplomatic service.

The Speaker thanked the Consul General for his partnership and friendship, and credited him with, “Persistency, determination, and relentless advocacy that has made the bond between the state of California and Israel stronger than ever these past four years.”

This past December the Speaker led a diplomatic trade mission to Israel, which the Consul General helped plan. Speaker Pérez said the delegation helped expand the cultural and economic relationship between California and Israel and the ties between our people.
