A college degree means greater opportunity. The knowledge and skills you gain can be used for the rest of your life. But finding ways to pay for college can be daunting. The State of California NOW offers TWO VALUABLE WAYS to help you afford this life-changing educational experience.
California's Cal Grant Financial Aid Program guarantees financial assistance based on need to every qualified student who applies.
Increasingly, students from middle class families have also been priced out of college. To help these families, the Legislature enacted the Middle Class Scholarship in 2013.
Both Cal Grants and the Middle Class Scholarship are only available by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov or the CA Dream Act Application at www.caldreamact.org.
Remember, you won't be eligible for the money unless you fill out the application and meet the March 2, 2014 deadline.
In 2013 nearly 7 out of 10 Cash for College Workshop attendees received state or federal financial aid.
