Mr. Rothman was born in Czecheslovakia in 1924. At age 19, he was sent to four concentration camps, including Auschwitz. In 1945, he was liberated by the Russian army and immediately following the war, he moved to the United States. He has since spent the last decade dedicated to educating the public and particularly the youth on his experience during the Holocaust and how such tragedies must be avoided. He is the author of the book Living with Nightmares, which was published in 2002.
