Do you have backpacks, notebooks, or pens to spare? Please join me in the fourth annual backpack drive.

Every child deserves a fair chance to succeed in school. Join me in helping our Sacramento youth receive the basic supplies they need.

If you have supplies to spare, please drop them off at my State Capitol office in Room 2013 or my District Office, 915 L St., Suite. 110 on or before September 5th.

Senior Scam StopperCome to a Senior Scam Stopper Seminar hosted by the Contractors State License Board and me to learn how to protect yourself and loved ones from fraud.

Experts will discuss ways to identify and prevent various scams targeting seniors. The seminar includes experts on subjects related to home repair, finances, identity theft, and more. This is free and open to the public.

Are you interested in healthy eating?

Join me at the Food Literacy Fair, sponsored by the Food Literacy Center and the Southside Park Neighborhood Association. The event will feature music, live cooking demonstrations, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, activities for kids, local chefs, live music by The Hoots, informational booths on health and nutrition, free food samples, raffle prizes and a Veggie of the Year Contest. Come learn about food from the ground up and how to make more informed food choices that are good for people and the planet.
