Assembly Speaker Names Michael Allen as Chair of New Select Committee on State Hospital Safety

California State Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez named Assemblymember Michael Allen to chair the new Assembly Select Committee on State Hospital Safety. Allen represents the state's 7th Assembly District, comprised of Napa County as well as parts of Solano and Sonoma Counties. A former psychiatric nurse, Allen said the committee will focus on ways to improve patient and worker safety at state hospital facilities.     NAPA (KCBS) – One year after her murder at the hands of a 37-year-old psychotic patient, Donna Gross was honored Sunday on the grounds of Napa State Hospital – where she worked and where she died.
