Mulvaney's B&L Recognized by Asm. Dickinson as 'Small Business of the Year'

Sacramento – Popular Mid-town restaurant Mulvaney's Building and Loan was honored Monday by Assemblymember Roger Dickinson (D – Sacramento) and the California Small Business Association as "Small Business of the Year" for the 9th Assembly District.

"Small business is the backbone of California's economy. Mulvaney's is a special example of how large a role small business plays in Sacramento," said Dickinson. "Mulvaney's provides over 100 jobs, purchase from local suppliers, and run their business with conscientiousness towards charity and the environment. Mulvaney's is more than a small business; they are a giant in the community."

Mulvaney's Building & Loan is an American restaurant, banquet hall, and off-site catering company whose focus is farm to fork eating and especially pork as demonstrated by one of their logos "Pigasus", that can be seen lit up on the corner every night.

Owners and operators Patrick and Bobbin Mulvaney are revered for their community values and pay-it-forward philosophy. Patrick is a Board member of Roberts Family Development Center and Francis House. Bobbin founded Plates, a culinary training program for women of the St. John's Women's Shelter. Over 35 charities a year count Mulvaney's Building and Loan as a sponsor.

Patrick and Bobbin Mulvaney received their award at a ceremony held in recognition of California Small Business Day at the Sacramento Convention Center. The California Small Business Association, 75 state legislators and 31 other small business organizations paid tribute to businesses from around California.
