San Francisco – Today in Chinatown, Assemblymember Matt Haney and representatives from California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s Office stood with Asian Pacific Islander (API), Black, and LGBTQ leaders to draw attention to the dramatic increase in hate crimes statewide, including the 177.5% increase in reported anti-Asian hate crimes, and to outline statewide efforts to fight these crimes.

Assemblymember Haney’s Language Rights for Workers Bill| (AB 2068) Unanimously Passes Senate Labor Committee

Promotes worker safety by increasing language access for all California workers

Sacramento – Today, Assemblymember Matt Haney (D-San Francisco) passed AB 2068 through the Senate Labor and Employment Committee to address language barriers in workplaces across California. Currently, California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) are only mandated to post workplace citations and special orders in English.

Matt Haney Sworn in as Assemblymember for the 17th District

Sacramento, CA – Today, Matt Haney was sworn in as the Assemblymember for the 17th Assembly District after winning a landslide victory in the April 19th special election. The newly elected Assemblymember will represent the diverse district encompassing the eastern side of San Francisco.
