ANAHEIM, CA – Assemblymember Mary Hayashi has been named Legislator of the Year by the California Medical Association (CMA). CMA presented the award on Saturday to Assemblymember Hayashi at their annual policy meeting in Anaheim, California.
“CMA is pleased to recognize Assemblywoman Hayashi’s strong commitment to protecting the integrity of the doctor-patient relationship, and to ensuring that Californians have access to high quality care from their doctors,” stated CMA President Dr. Dev GnanaDev. “For her public service on behalf of patients and doctors in California, we are pleased to name her the CMA Legislator of the Year.”
CMA has more than 35,000 members in all modes of practice and specialties representing the patients of California Its members include licensed California physicians, residents or intern physicians, and students at California medical schools. CMA advocates for patients on a broad range of health care issues, and works on legislative issues affecting the practice of medicine in California.
“I am honored to receive this award, and I would like to thank CMA for this incredible recognition,” stated Assemblymember Hayashi. “Ever since I came to the Legislature, health care has been my top priority. CMA is deeply committed to protecting the values and practices that make up safe, ethical, and quality medical care, and I feel very privileged to be able to work with such a dedicated group of advocates.”
Assemblymember Hayashi currently serves the 18th Assembly District, which includes San Leandro, Hayward, Dublin, most of Castro Valley and Pleasanton, and a portion of Oakland, as well as the unincorporated areas of Ashland, Cherryland, San Lorenzo and Sunol.
