Politicians, tech execs rappel off Adobe building to help end homelessness

SAN JOSE — One-by-one they rappelled off a landmark Adobe building downtown Saturday, carefully traversing its 16 floors as onlookers cheered and snapped photos from down below. Some, looking to add a bit of flair to the tricky challenge, did so in full costume (there were a few Spider-Man sightings). It’s not something you see a local politician do everyday, let alone a tech executive.

Assemblymember Ash Kalra to Host Paws for a Cause Adoption Event, Sponsor Free Pet Adoptions

SAN JOSE – Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) will hold a press conference tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the San Jose Animal Care Center on 2750 Monterey Road to kick off “Paws for a Cause,” a two-week pet adoption drive with zero adoption fees.

Beginning July 22 through August 6, pet adoption fees will be waived for all adult cats (4 months and older) and dogs (6 months and older).
