Assemblymember Williams Hosts Emergency Preparedness Resource Fair(Goleta, CA) – Assemblymember Das Williams (D-Santa Barbara) was recently joined by over 20 agencies and community organizations in the Goleta Valley Community Center for an emergency preparedness fair. The experts were there to answer questions on how to prepare your family, pets, and workplace in case of an emergency or disaster. Williams' Public Health Bill Signed by GovernorLegislation Streamlines Process to Identify Communicable Diseases SACRAMENTO - Governor Jerry Brown today signed Assembly Bill 186, which will speed up the process to list communicable diseases and conditions. The bill authored by Assemblymember Das Williams (D- Santa Barbara) gained bipartisan support in both the Senate and Assembly. AB 186, allows the California Department of Public Health to modify the list of communicable diseases in a more timely and responsive fashion with consultation by the California Conference of Local Health Officers and the California Association of Public Health Laboratory Directors. Williams Bill to Increase Public Safety Clears Senate FloorBill on way to Governor for Signature SACRAMENTO — A Bill authored by Assemblymember Das Williams (D-Santa Barbara) that provides policy guidelines regarding background screening requirements for Emergency Medical Responders, passed the Senate floor today.
