SACRAMENTO – As part of the Assembly’s celebration of Women’s History Month, Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) recognized Dr. Anna Galfaian as the 43^rd Assembly District Woman of the Year.

BURBANK - For many Armenian Americans, 2017 is year 99.

We often put a lot of emphasis on 100. It’s a centennial, a century, a perfect score, a magical round number. But 99 is an interesting number, too. It’s right before you get to the big number. If you are turning 99 years old, you know that the remaining year is a significant journey. It’s not an easy thing to complete that final year. The First Republic of Armenia was established in 1918, which means this is year 99, just one step left before we celebrate the 100th anniversary.

BURBANK - Since the publishing of my last article I have had the great fortune of meeting more of my talented colleagues in the California Assembly, more of the passionate organizations who fight daily for the causes they believe in, and more of you – the dedicated, caring and well-informed individuals who make up our district.

SACRAMENTO – Today, Assemblymember Laura Friedman, D-Glendale, issued the following statement on President Trump’s action on immigration:

“As the representative for the 43rd Assembly District, I join thousands of my constituents in condemning the inhumane and unconstitutional treatment of refugees, visitors and legal residents arriving at our shores.

Burbank, CA - Here we are – it is the beginning of a new year and the start of the 2017-18 legislative session. I want to formally introduce our team and myself as well as give you a few updates on my progress as your new Assemblymember.
