Kevin Barry Named 53rd Assembly District Small Business Person of the Year
SACRAMENTO – Kevin Barry, co-owner of Sangria Restaurant of Hermosa Beach was honored today at a Sacramento Ceremony by Assemblymember Betsy Butler, as the 53rd Assembly District Business Person of the Year, for his successes and contributions to the South Bay Community.
“Kevin has set an exemplary standard for local business owners with years of active involvement and support for many community organizations,” said Assemblymember Butler. “I am honored to recognize him as my 53rd Assembly District Small Business Person of the Year.”
Kevin Barry has helped raise more than $3 million dollars for local schools, community organizations and non-profit foundations, including the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation, the Surfrider Foundation, The Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation and the Dig4Kids Education Foundation among others.
A restaurateur and businessman in the area for nearly 30 years, Sangria restaurant located in Hermosa Beach and established in 1995, has become an outstanding symbol of commitment to the community and is a gathering place for residents and visitors alike.
The ceremony was sponsored by the California Small Business Association, a volunteer-driven, nonprofit, non-partisan organization that makes its mission to provide small business with a meaningful voice in state and federal governments.
Assemblymember Betsy Butler represents California’s 53rd Assembly District, comprised of the communities of El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Lomita, Marina del Rey, and portions of the City of Los Angeles.
