2012 Legislative Summary

AB 1172 - Charter Schools and Negative Fiscal Standing: Allows a school district in financial distress to deny a charter school petition.
Status: To be heard on the Assembly Floor January 30, 2012.

AB 1203 - Employee Release Time: Expands employee release time for union work.
Status: Eligible for a vote on the Senate floor. Pending author's amendments.

AB 1462 - DUI Vehicular Manslaughter: Increases penalties and fines for DUI vehicular manslaughter, to reflect the same severity as DUI Vehicular Injury.
Status: Referred to Assembly committee on Public Safety.

AB 1507 - Prison Industry Authority & Small Business Opportunity: Creates opportunity for small businesses to supply goods and services currently required to be supplied by the PIA to state agencies if the quality of the good is equal or better, and the price is lower.
Status: Double Referred to Assembly committees on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy, and Public Safety.

AB 1520 - Mobile Advertising: Allows cities to enforce mobile advertising laws as they pertain to signs mounted on vehicles.
Status: Double Referred to Assembly committees on Transportation and Local Government.
