Dear Community Member:

My office is now accepting nominations for the "Remarkable Women of the 57th Assembly District Awards." It is my pleasure to invite you in assisting me in identifying remarkable women from our District during the month of March, commonly recognized as 'Woman's History Month.'

I respectfully ask you to take time in nominating a woman that lives within the 57th Assembly District that has made a significant contribution to our community or meaningful impact in your life. The 57th Assembly District includes the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, La Puente, West Covina, Irwindale, Industry, and the San Gabriel Valley unincorporated communities of Valinda, North Whittier, Charter Oak, Bassett, Vincent, Avocado Heights and Ramona.

One remarkable woman from each city will be chosen as well as one overall representative from our local unincorporated communities. Last year, I had the pleasure of recognizing six exemplary women, which included: Ms. Ginny Dadaian of Azusa, Mrs. Lina Ledford of Covina, Marguerite Lopez of Irwindale, Honorable Anita Perez of La Puente, Ruth Weir of West Covina. Mrs. Bettie Nixon of Baldwin Park was recognized as the Women of the Year representing the 57th Assembly District in 2011.

Nominations are due March 1, 2012 and can be delivered via post mail, email, fax, or drop-off to my District Office located at 100 N. Barranca St., Suite 895 in West Covina.
