(Sacramento) – California State Assemblymember Ian Calderon (D-Whittier) is sponsoring “Film Fest,” a film competition for students who reside in the 57th Assembly District. This year’s competition theme, “Enlightenment from Loss – Lessons on Human Rights” will focus on original films by high school students about past and present genocides. (Sacramento) – A historic freshman class of thirty nine State Assemblymembers were sworn-in to the California State Assembly for the 2013-14 legislative session. Among them was Democrat Ian Calderon of Whittier. The newly sworn Assemblymember states that he is excited to continue his family’s tradition of public service and is humbled by his constituents’ trust.
