Friends,

It has been a very productive month. I am pleased to announce that the Governor successfully signed all of my legislation passed during this year’s legislative session. While I work on a variety of issues throughout the year, I also author legislation to support the people of Riverside County and the Inland Empire. My legislative efforts focused on securing $15 million in ongoing state budget funding to support the UC Riverside School of Medicine, helping veterans highlight and receive credit for their military service skills when applying for state licenses, and creating jobs by encouraging entrepreneurship, small business development, and foreign trade and investments.

A NOTE FROM JOSE

Friends,

This month, I am pleased to announce the inaugural class of students attending the UC Riverside School of Medicine. On Friday, August 9, a white coat ceremony will be held to recognize the first 50 students of the School of Medicine. The school is receiving $15 million of full and continuous funding through the state budget and the residents of the Inland Empire will finally begin to see their health care needs fulfilled. This is a historic time for our health, economy and the education of Inland Empire residents.

It was wonderful to have so many of you at our Senior Scam Stopper Seminar. Thank you for helping to make it such a successful and informative event.

Friends,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the recent unveiling of our new satellite office in Perris. Thank you for helping to make it such a special and informative event.

Additionally, I am happy to announce that after continuously fighting for funding for the UC Riverside School of Medicine, the school is successfully receiving $15 million of full and continuous funding through the state budget. Thanks to the tireless efforts by Senator Richard Roth and myself, the residents of the Inland Empire will finally begin to see their healthcare needs reached. On my first day in office, I introduced AB 27, legislation to secure funding for the UC Riverside School of Medicine and it has been my top priority. I am elated to have made this immense contribution to the health, education, and well-being of our families for generations to come.

I want to personally thank the hundreds of constituents who voiced their support for AB 27 to fully fund the UC Riverside School of Medicine. This is a historic time for the health, economy and education of Inland Empire residents.
