Speaker John A. Pérez – AD 53
Boston Bombing

“We do know that in a moment of darkness, there were also thousands of examples of basic goodness and decency of Americans shining a light into that darkness. Within moments of the initial explosion, spectators and runners of every walk of life leapt into action to save the lives of the injured and wounded despite the real fear that another explosion would bring, they stayed with the victims… I respectively ask that the Assembly adjourn in memory of Krystle Cambpell, Lu Lingzi and Martin Richard and to observe a moment of silence for them, their families and all of those who are struggling to recover from this horrible atrocity.”
