Assemblymember Mike Fong Presents Inaugural Outstanding Educator Awards

MONTEREY PARK, CA – Yesterday, Assemblymember Mike Fong (D-Alhambra) presented 17 Inaugural Outstanding Educator Awards at East Los Angeles College (ELAC). The event highlighted 17 exceptional educators from throughout the 49th Assembly District who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in education and have made a significant positive impact on the lives of their students. The 49th District includes Alhambra, Arcadia, El Monte, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, South Pasadena, and Temple City.

The Outstanding Educator Awards Ceremony recognizes and celebrates the many contributions of educators in the 49th Assembly District, highlighting their dedication, passion, and tireless efforts to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders. The honorees were nominated by colleagues, students and members of the public during Teacher Appreciation Week.

"I am honored to present the Inaugural Outstanding Educator Awards to 17 phenomenal educators and extend my deepest gratitude to these remarkable individuals who shape the minds of our future leaders. Their unwavering dedication to excellence in education deserves to be recognized and celebrated," said Assemblymember Mike Fong.

As Chair of the Assembly Higher Education Committee, Assemblymember Mike Fong is a leading advocate for education and firmly believes that educators play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our society.

Dr. Alberto Roman, President of ELAC, delivered keynote remarks. "Much of what educators do every day may go unnoticed, but they have a profound impact on students. I'm happy that Assemblymember Mike Fong recognizes that impact, and that we were able to celebrate outstanding educators at our beautiful ELAC campus at the start of the new school year," said Dr. Roman. 

The Outstanding Educator Awards ceremony brought together approximately 120 people, including school board members and superintendents from several school districts, community leaders, and the honorees’ families and friends, who joined the Assemblymember in celebrating the outstanding educators.

The awards ceremony was a heartwarming and inspiring event, showcasing the transformative power of education and the indelible mark left by educators in the lives of their students.

方樹強文學首屆傑出教育者獎

加利福尼亞州,蒙特利公園市——昨天,方樹強光子(阿罕布拉)在東洛杉磯學院(ELAC)頒發了17名傑出教育家獎。此活動主要集中在49區,17名傑出教育者獎教育者們。他們致力於更好的教育方式,無條件投入了很多心血,也給學生們帶來了極大的積極影響。49區包含了阿什布拉市、阿卡迪亞市、艾爾蒙特市、蒙特利公園市、羅斯米德市、聖蓋博市、聖馬力諾市、南帕薩迪納市和天普市。

傑出教育者獎旨在表彰和慶祝在49區作出無數貢獻的教育家們,突出他們對於培養下一代領導者們時所體現出的奉獻精神,激情,和不懈努力。得獎者們是在“教師感恩週”期間,通過他們的同事、學生、以及市民們所票選出來的。

方樹強議員說:“我非常榮幸去為這17位無與倫比的教育者們去頒傑出教育者獎,也為每個教師個體對於培養下一代所作出的努力獻出我最真摯的感激。他們在教育中所作出的傑出貢獻是非常需要我們去表彰並慶祝的。”

作為議會高等教育委員會的主席,方樹強議員是一個教育領頭倡導者,他也堅定的相信教育工作者對於我們未來社會的塑造發揮著關鍵的作用。

ELAC的校長,Alberto Roman博士發表了講話:“教育工作者每天的大多工作可能不被人注意,但他們對學生的未來有著深遠的影響。我很高興方樹強議員認識到這種影響,也很高興我們能夠在新學年開始的時候在美麗的ELAC校園里為傑出的教育工作者們慶祝!”

Assemblymember Mike Fong represents the 49th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Alhambra, Arcadia, El Monte, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, South Pasadena and Temple City, and the unincorporated areas of Pasadena and San Gabriel.
