Focus Turns Toward a Uniform Development of the Miracle Mile

STOCKTON – The Ad Hoc Workgroup for Stockton’s Miracle Mile Improvement Project hosted their third public meeting this evening. These forums provide an opportunity for the public to receive progress reports directly from the Ad Hoc Workgroup, as well as for the public to voice their opinion and help shape the redevelopment of Stockton’s historic district.
“I am grateful for the productive conversations continuing to be had between the Workgroup and the public so that the Project receives full representation from the community,” said Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton). “As we proceed towards the end of this advisory process, the gathering of public opinion becomes all the more important to ensure the final outcome represents the true vision of the city.”
The subcommittees of the Ad Hoc Workgroup tonight provided updates on priorities and focuses of the redevelopment so far, such as:
- Ensuring a thriving business environment during and after reconstruction,
- Providing a safe experience for visitors and pedestrians,
- Creating community engagement through pop-up events,
- Developing an enriched cultural experience, and
- Expanding mobility options to travel to the Miracle Mile.
Members of the public shared their vision for Caldwell Park and how it can be utilized to enrich the Miracle Mile experience for families, as well as how multi-use developments can provide safer outcomes for visitors and business owners.
The next public meeting for the Miracle Mile Ad Hoc Workgroup is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
