Monday, October 12, 2020

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Rob Bonta (D-Oakland) and 25 legislative colleagues are seeking answers from the California Department of Public Health on the recent ICE “enforcement blitz.”  The lawmakers have sent the attached letter to CDPH.

"The health and safety of Californians is at risk in the hands of ICE, and every level of government must give the proper oversight needed to protect all Californians from the deadly spread of COVID-19," said Bonta. "At a time when people are being targeted, ripped away from their families, and placed into dangerous and even deadly detention settings, we must ensure all required safety steps are being followed. If health and safety regulations are being violated by ICE, we must hold them accountable."
